MADAME MARIEME FAYE SALL-SENEGAL
The First Lady of Senegal was born in Saint-Louis north of Senegal.She studied electro-technical engineering.After graduating with a technical high school degree,she attended Higher Institute of Technology at the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar.She wanted to pursue a career in electrical engineering.However,after giving birth to her first child,she decided to be a housewife to look after her family.She is committed to a peaceful family life hence she attracts followers within the poorest groups of society and young people with her genuine humility and her outstanding listening and communication skills.
JEANNETTE NYIRAMONGI KAGAME-RWANDA
Jeannette Nyiramongi Kagame born August 10, 1962 is the wife of Paul Kagami.She became the First Lady of Rwanda when her husband took office as President in 2000.The couple have four children - Ivan,Ange, Ian and Brian.Jeannette Kagame is the Founder of Imbuto Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to support the development of a healthy, educated and prosperous society.
Kagame hosted the first African First Ladies’ Summit on Children and HIV/AIDS Prevention in May 2001 in Kigali,Rwanda.The summit lad to the founding of the PACFA (Protection and Care of Families against HIV/AIDS) an initiative primarily focused on providing a holistic approach to HIV prevention and care for the whole family. Kagame later co-founded the Organisation of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA) in 2002, and served as its president from 2004 until 2006.
TSHEPO MOTSEPE-SOUTH AFRICA
Tshepo Motsepe is married to Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa, with whom she has four children.Motsepe is Ramaphosa's third wife.She is a member of one of the wealthiest families in South Africa,the Motsepes.Her brother is the mining magnate Patrice Motsepe, and her sister Bridgette Radebe, wife of African National Congress (ANC) politician and Minister of Energy, Jeff Radebe.Motsepe studied Medicine.She graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal with an MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) and went on to complete her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Maternal Child Health and Aging at Harvard School of Public Health.In 2012, she completed a Social Entrepreneurship Certificate Program (SECP) at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). She is the current chairperson of the African Self Help Trust (ASHA Trust), focusing on Early Childhood Development and Education.
Over the years, she has worked in both public and private practice. She worked in hospitals in South Africa (Bophelong Hospital, Mahikeng and Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Soweto) and Zimbabwe (Mutare, Chinhoyi, Harare and Parirenyatwa Hospitals).
