Baby racing competition dates back in the 1940s and 50s.It was an annual baby race known as the Diaper Derby and was sponsored by the National Institute of Diaper Services. It was being held in New Jersey between 1946 and 1955.It was described by many as the slowest 2 minutes in sports.
The finish line was usually lined with stuffed bears, bunnies, dogs and other things babies have a liking for.During that time there was no looser as all kids got whatever they crawled towards. However, the winner got 50 dollars savings bond and a crown.
Rules had to be instilled at that young age.Any kids who stood up during the race were automatically disqualified.
During the recently held Diaper Derby 2018 in New York,USA,around 30 babies competed. They crawled across a 3,66 meters long mat at the cheering of mommies and daddies.
Some just couldn't go on without making sure their hair was in place.
The baby champion was a 15 months old who won with a huge margin.Proud parents of a knee sprinter couldn't hide their joys.
In other occasions, sometimes parents would do everything to keep that athlete going. It's no secret what this sportsperson is into. After all we all have our own muse.
This cute competition is held in different countries including China..
While others can't handle the pressure of this cute sport, others just take their time to make friends and share some smiles.Moments like these are precious for every parent.
