Thousands of twitter users are reacting to United States President's above tweet where he referred Covid-19 as 'Chinese Virus'. Many are describing Donald Trump's tweet as racist and xenophobic. He is now being accused of inflaming racial hatred against Asians and Asians Americans. Some came in support of the tweet saying that viruses maybe named from the country or place of their origin and since the Covid-19 started in China, it's a Chinese virus.
According to a report in chinadaily, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang on Tuesday said that some US politicians' connection of the novel coronavirus with China is stigmatization, which China strongly condemns and firmly opposes. He made the remark when asked to respond to United States President Donald Trump's earlier tweet that referred to COVID-19 as "Chinese virus".
Corona virus started in Wuhan city in China and has since spread internationally.
