FEMALE MEDICS IN CHINA ALLEGEDLY FORCED TO SHAVE THEIR HEADS BEFORE GOING TO WUHAN TO FIGHT CORONA VIRUS
There has been reports of a hospital in China being accused of forcing female medics to shave their heads to show their determination and sacrifice to fight the novel corona virus before being sent to Wuhan.
The hospital has dismissed the accusations that it forced its employees to shave their heads, claiming all nurses had voluntarily chosen to go bald and that it was a 'common practice' among medics.
A local news outlet reported that the spokesperson of Gansu Provincial Women and Children's Hospital said, " Many web users don't know the situation, but for medical workers this is a common thing and can be observed in many places in the country.
The most important thing is that this could prevent infection and is easy to clean."
Many social media users questioned if this was really necessary and many are of the notion
that this is a forced thing as some medics can be seen crying in videos circulating on social media. Some can be seen seemingly reluctant while hairdressers shave their heads. In another video clip some nurses can be seen playing with their chopped off hair. However, other people are accusing the hospital of using this ceremony to gain attention from media.
Regardless of what is being said, these medics are sacrificing their lives to serve and protect the country. To date more than a thousand medics have been infected with corona virus and many others dead. They left their homes, children, partners, parents to go into the battlefield with no guarantee that they will return home safe. These are the heroes to be saluted and honoured.
